Stride Music for Wear OS
Privacy policy
Effective 26 October 2026
In short: Stride Music does not collect, store, sell or share any personal data. It has no accounts, ads, analytics or tracking, and it does not connect to the internet. Everything you put in the app stays on your watch.
This policy explains how Stride Music (the "app"), made by Lakehouse Studio ("we"), handles information. It applies to the app on Wear OS watches.
Information we collect
None. We do not collect any personal or usage information through the app, and we have no servers that receive data from it. The app contains no advertising, analytics, crash-reporting or tracking code.
Information stored on your watch
To work, the app keeps the following on your watch only:
- songs you send to it;
- your playlists and favourites;
- your settings, and the queue, song and position you were last playing.
This information never leaves your watch through the app. It is deleted when you uninstall the app. Songs you send to Stride are stored in the app's own folder and are removed too. Music that was already on your watch from other sources is not changed.
Sending songs over Wi-Fi
When the Add music screen is open, the app runs a small web page on your watch, reachable only from devices on the same Wi-Fi network. The address includes a 4-digit code shown on the watch. The page stops as soon as you leave that screen.
Files travel directly from your browser to your watch over your local network. They do not go through the internet or through any server run by us or anyone else.
Permissions
| Permission | Why the app asks for it |
|---|---|
| Music and audio | To find and play songs that are already stored on your watch. You can choose which folders it uses. |
| Notifications | To show playback controls while music plays. |
| Network and Wi-Fi | To run the local Add music page described above. This is the only reason the app uses the network. |
| Foreground service, wake lock | To keep music playing when the screen is off. |
Voice and keyboard input
Search and playlist names use your watch's standard voice or keyboard input. If you speak, your watch's voice input service (for example, Google's) turns your speech into text under its own privacy policy. Stride Music only receives the resulting text, uses it on the watch, and does not keep or send it anywhere.
Bluetooth
If no earbuds are connected when you press play, the app can open your watch's Bluetooth settings for you. It does not scan for or connect to Bluetooth devices itself.
Children
The app collects no information from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will post the new version on this page and update the effective date above.
